JERUSALEM DAY MARCH
On 24th May, 1998, the day commemorating the liberation of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement marched from Ammunition Hill to the Temple Mount along the same route that the Israeli soldiers followed when they liberated the Temple Mount and Jerusalem.
Thirty-one years ago, in a prophetic redemptional event, the G-d of Israel brought the Israeli army back to the Temple Mount and Biblical Jerusalem after almost 2,000 years since the Jewish nation was taken from here after the destruction of the temple by the Romans in 70 C.E. It was a fulfillment of a dream and a vision of G-d and all the prophets who prophesied about this day. It was the dream and desire of hundreds of generation of the Jewish nation since the destruction which suddenly, in G-d's timing, was fulfilled and became a reality. When the Jews were taken into exile by the Roman forces and later in the 7th century by the Arab forces who occupied the Temple Mount and Jerusalem they took with them in their hearts, minds and emotions the Temple Mount and Jerusalem as a focus of all their desires to come back to the land which G-d promised them in an eternal covenant. Before they were taken from the land they swore before G-d and the destroyed Temple and Jerusalem: "If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy." (Ps137:5-6)
This is a unique story of love between a nation and a city, a godly city, that you will not find in the city of all the nations. This is a unique story of loyalty, dedication and devotion between the Jewish nation and Jerusalem which goes back to when King David made Jerusalem the eternal capital of Israel according to the Word of G-d 3,000 years ago. This is a unique story of loyalty of a city to a nation. Since 70 C.E. so many nations and powers occupied Jerusalem. None of them, including the Arab Moslem occupiers, made Jerusalem their own capital. G-d and Jerusalem did not allow it and at the same time none of them felt the attachment to this city which the Jewish nation has felt. Jerusalem was the capital only when the Israeli state existed in the land of Israel until 70 C.E. and then again since the year 1948 the year of the rebirth of Israel as a nation and as a state. The loyalty of the Jewish nation to Jerusalem was a unique loyalty to the G-d of Israel Who dwells in this city and commanded Israel to make this city, not only the city where He dwells, but the city which will be the capital of His chosen nation. Daily in all the prayers, at least six times a day, the Jews prayed for the rebuilding of Jerusalem and for the return to their beloved city.
In their hearts there was a permanent sorrow when they saw Jerusalem still under the control of foreigners and they were so far from the city. On their holy days, in their times of joy, at their weddings, they put Jerusalem at the head of their joy, in their prayers, in their hopes and wishes. At weddings the bridal pair swear the above Scripture and with tears in their eyes they break a glass to remember the terrible destruction and their desire for the rebuilding of the Temple and the city. They continue to do all of this until this moment. For thousands of years since the time of Abraham and up until now, Jews bury their dead with their face towards the Temple Mount. In the eastern wall of all their houses they leave an unfinished part which can be seen immediately on entry to the house as a reminder of the destruction of the city. When Jews prayed they pray facing the Temple Mount and Jerusalem. All synagogues are built pointing towards the Temple Mount. When children are educated by their parents, they are taught the focal significance of Jerusalem in their life as Jews and as a nation. Even when they were far from the land they could describe the beauty, the holiness of Jerusalem because, when they were taken from the city, they took all the views in their memories and passed them from father to son. Jerusalem was, is and always will be, the focus, the heart, the soul of the G-d and people of Israel, the eternal capital and location of the godly covenant of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and His people.
Jerusalem waited for her sons, the children of Israel, such a long time. Exactly as it happened to the land, Jerusalem rejected any foreign power which tried to take this city from Israel. For almost 2,000 years G-d did not allow anyone to take Jerusalem and the land of Israel from His nation. He showed everyone in the world that He is completely loyal to the covenant that He made with Israel, the land, the city and the Temple Mount.
The big godly moment came in the year 1967. The G-d of Israel, Who again became the general and commander of the Israeli army, brought His forces to the Temple Mount and Biblical Jerusalem and in an heroic battle, liberated them forever for His nation, Israel. I will never forget this godly moment when I stood as a young Israeli officer with my parachute battalion in front of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the rock of Abraham and Isaac in the midst of the Temple Mount. I had tears in my eyes as there were in the eyes of the soldiers. The whole Israeli nation cried at this moment. It was such a great fulfillment of G-d's promises. It was such a godly privilege that G-d gave to our generation after hundreds of generations of destruction.
Since this godly day, Israel has celebrated this day for 31 years as a holiday in Israel. Each year the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement have marched to Temple Mount from Ammunition Hill; the Hill where the Israeli army fought the hardest battle against the foreign Jordanian forces which attacked Jerusalem. Twenty-four Israeli soldiers died in the battle for this hill. More that 200 sacrificed their lives in other places in the battle for the liberation of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem. We shall never forget them. They gave their young lives for G-d, His prophetic plans, for the coming generations and for again making the Temple Mount the place of the Third Temple, Jerusalem the eternal capital of Israel and opened a new godly era for Israel and for all the nations.
On the 24th May 1998, we again marched from this hill to the Temple Mount. We started the march near the tank which remains from the terrible battle in the midst of the hill. We memorialized these holy soldiers in the midst of this hill which became a memorial. With our faces towards the Temple Mount we lit candles and swore to be loyal to their heritage, to be loyal to the G-d of Israel and to the Temple Mount, Jerusalem and the land of Israel. Then we marched along the route where the battle of the Six Day War took place. In every place where Israeli soldiers fell in this battle we remembered them, lit candles and prayed for them and for Israel.
Later we came to Orient House, the place which has become the focus of the "Palestinian Authority" in Jerusalem since the evil Oslo agreements were signed. Here we demonstrated against not only the dwelling of this evil, anti-godly and anti-Israeli house in the midst of Jerusalem, but also against the so-called "Palestinian" campaign to make Jerusalem an Arab city and the capital of a "Palestinian" state. We demonstrated against the terrible destruction and desecration done by the Arabs of the remains of the First and Second Temples which were on the Temple Mount. We demonstrated against the two new mosques that have been built in Solomon's Stables and in the Hulda Tunnel on the Temple Mount. We demonstrated against a "Palestinian parliament" building that they have started to build 1 kilometer from the Temple Mount and the many other buildings that they are building illegally in Jerusalem. We demonstrated against the Oslo agreements which brought all this ungodly evil on Jerusalem and Israel. We called on the government of Israel to wake up and to show everyone that we are loyal only to the G-d of Israel and to the Holy Hill, the city and land that He gave us and to immediately cancel the evil Oslo agreement and to destroy the foreign anti-godly and anti-Israeli "Palestinian" Authority which, under the umbrella of the false "peace" process, is making a very open political and practical battle to make this authority a "Palestinian " state and Jerusalem a "Palestinian" capital and then to finally destroy Israel and make all the land which G-d gave only to Israel a "Palestinian" land. We know that G-d will never allow this but He is expecting us to show Him that we are loyal to Him and to the land and that we are determined to be faithful to the eternal covenant that He made with us.
We carried with us a coffin on which was written "The Oslo agreements and the "Palestinian" state of terrorists" to symbolize that the Oslo agreement has to be immediately stopped and buried and that the Arab/"Palestinian" battle has no chance. We also carried a Trojan horse to symbolize that they are like a Trojan horse in the midst of the land of Israel. We also carried a symbolic wall to warn of the danger of a redivison of Jerusalem.
From Orient House we marched to the American consulate where we also protested against the president of the United States, Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary, who have joined the enemies of Israel and are putting pressure on Israel to give away the main Biblical parts of the land in Judea, Samaria and Gaza to Yasser Arafat and his band of PLO murderers and to found a "Palestinian" state in the land which G-d gave to Israel. We also protested against his messengers to do this evil work, Madeline Albright, Dennis Ross and Martin Indyk. All of them are Jews who have forgotten their Jewish roots and commitments to the G-d and people of Israel. It is a shame for the president of a nation that is very friendly to Israel to do this evil in the eyes of G-d and to use Jews for this purpose against their own G-d and nation. We called on our friends in America to stop them immediately. We worry very much for the friendly American people that we appreciate and love so much because G-d will never accept what their government is doing in their name against Israel especially at a time of godly judgement which is soon to come.
From here we continued to the Damascus Gate, one of the beautiful gates in the wall of the Biblical Jerusalem. In the plaza of this gate we danced with Israeli flags, prayed and read from Psalm 122.
A Song of Maalot of David
I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the L-rd.
Our feet shall stand inside your gates, O Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is built as a city which is bound firmly together;
There the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
For thrones of judgment were set there, the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; those who love you shall prosper.
Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.
For my brothers and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within you.
Because of the house of the L-rd our G-d I will seek your good.
It was an exciting display of deep appreciation to the G-d of Israel Who brought us to this moment and love for the beloved city of Israel and king David who founded it as the capital of Israel 3000 years ago. tears and joy were mixed in our hearts at this moment. We could feel the presence of G-d with us and we knew that Jerusalem will never again be taken from us and that major days are expected in the future. We then marched in Biblical Jerusalem with music and joy and songs from the Psalms of King David.
Near the place where Haim Kerman was murdered a few weeks earlier by Arafat's murderers we placed a memorial to his heroic life and death. And we called the street by his name. Haim was a young Israeli who lived with his wife and young children in the Old City and was a student at "Ateret Kohanim" yeshiva. This is the yeshiva which prepares priest for the worship in the Third Temple which is soon to be built. They succeeded to kill his body but not his spirit. This young martyr for the name of the G-d and people of Israel and for the Temple Mount and Jerusalem is now close to G-d and from heaven he continues to give us strength to continue our holy godly campaign.
At the end of the march we arrived at climax of this event - the Temple Mount. The previous day Feisal Husseini, one of the PLO leaders, called on the Arabs to come to the Temple Mount and stop the Temple Mount Faithful from going up on the mount. Many hundreds of Arabs were on the Temple Mount when we arrived at the western gate. Their leaders stated that they would attack any Jew who went up on the Temple Mount. A few even tried to attack us on the way to the Temple Mount but the Israeli soldiers immediately arrested them. But, unfortunately, here on the Temple Mount the Israeli security authorities decided to close the gates of the Temple Mount to us or to any other Israeli during the whole Day of Jerusalem. Instead of arresting those who acted with violence and wanted to stop the Faithful and Israelis from going to up to the Holy Hill which G-d gave them to worship there, to trust in G-d and to do what He expects them to do, they preferred to give in to these enemies who are full of hatred against Israel and the G-d of Israel.
It was a sad moment but, at the same time, it gave us encouragement and strength to change the weakness of our leadership, to do everything to stop the abomination on the most holy place of Israel and all the earth and to continue our holy campaign for the reliberation of the Temple Mount and for the building of the Third temple in our lifetime for Israel and for all the nations. We prayed the holy day prayers for the day of Jerusalem near the western gate. Then we read and prayed from Psalms 79 and 126.
Psalm 79
A Psalm of Asaph.
O G-d, nations have come into your inheritance; your holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.
The dead bodies of your servants have they given to be food to the birds of the sky, the flesh of your pious ones to the beasts of the earth.
Their blood have they shed like water around Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
We have become a taunt to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to those who are around us.
How long, Lord? Will you be angry for ever? Shall your jealousy burn like fire?
Pour out your wrath on the nations that have not known you, and on the kingdoms that have not called upon your name.
For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.
O do not remember against us our former iniquities; let your tender mercies speedily come to meet us; for we are brought very low.
Help us, O G-d of our salvation, for the glory of your name; and save us, and forgive our sins, for your name's sake.
Why should the nations say, Where is their G-d? Let the revenging of the blood of your servants which is shed be made manifest among the nations, and before our eyes.
Let the groans of the prisoner come before you; according to the greatness of your power preserve those who are appointed to die;
And render to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom their insult, with which they have insulted you, O L-rd.
So we your people and sheep of your pasture will give you thanks for ever; we will tell your praise to all generations.
Psalm 126
A Song of Maalot.
When the L-rd brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like men who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then they said among the nations, The L-rd has done great things for them.
The L-rd has done great things for us; we are glad.
Bring back our captivity, O L-rd, like the streams in the Negev.
Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He who goes forth weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come back with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
This was the conclusion of this event but not the last of our godly dedicated and devoted battle for the G-d of Israel, the Temple Mount, Jerusalem and the Promised Land of Israel. When we swore with encouragement and excited feelings in our hearts - "If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy." - we knew that the critical climax of the battle of the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement started and that soon we shall see the accomplishment of the G-d of Israel's prophetic end-time plans here on the temple Mount, Jerusalem and the land of Israel where Mashiach ben David will enter the Temple that we shall build through the Eastern gate. -d is with us and we trust in Him alone.
