“Thus says the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, you that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, who spoke on the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, saying that the temple might be built....Thus says the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall become times of joy and gladness, and the cheerful feasts to the house of Judah; therefore love the truth and peace.” (Zechariah 8:9,19)
On Tisha B'Av, August 1, 2017, 9th of Av, 5777 and 1,947 years after the destruction of the Second Holy Temple and 2,603 years after the destruction of the First Holy Temple, the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement conducted a special, historical jubilee march to the Holy Temple Mount and Jerusalem.
This unique march took place more than 4,000 years after G‑d sent Abraham to Mount Moriah (the Holy Temple Mount) and made with him and his seed Israel the eternal covenant, and more than 3,000 years after King David bought the threshing floor on the Moriah mountain from Aravna the Jebusite and dedicated it to be the location of the First Holy Temple. David prepared the architectural plans for the building of the Holy Temple and also all of the elements for the service of worship in the House of G‑d. David's son, King Solomon, constructed the Holy Temple and glorified it for the honor of the G‑d of Israel.
The Tisha B'Av 2017 special and historical march of the Faithful Movement marked a major and important step in the work of the movement to rebuild the Holy Temple in our lifetime and to fulfill the heritage and the testaments of Abraham, King David, King Solomon, our forefathers and the generations of the destruction of both Holy Temples.
Gershon Salomon, the chairman of the Faithful Movement, shares with us the exciting story behind this major event in 1990.
“I decided to petition the Supreme Court of Israel, in the name of the Faithful Movement, asking the court to allow us to lay the cornerstone in the proper place inside the Holy Temple Mount. The judge asked me, “Who anointed and sent you to lay a cornerstone for the Third Holy Temple?” I answered him, “It is the G‑d of Israel Who sent Moses to the people of Israel and their leadership rejected him. It is the G‑d Who sent King David and King Solomon and Zerabbabel to build the Temple. I am coming to do what all of my forefathers desired to do for the glory of the G‑d of Israel. I answer the call of G‑d to His people Israel in our generation to build the Holy Temple with no delay. If you, Honorable Judge, and the leaders of Israel do not answer the call of G‑d, I will do it in the Name of the G‑d and people of Israel. Please, Honorable Judge, hear the call of G‑d to His people Israel through the prophet Haggai, who called Israel to answer G‑d's call to Haggai's generation and who calls to our end-time generation as well. This is the call of the Almighty G‑d of Israel that I hear and have the great privilege to answer:”
“Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built. Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, Is it time for you, yourselves, to dwell in your well timbered houses, whilst this house lies waste?....Thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, says the LORD.” (Haggai 1:2-4,7,8)
As we described, the appearance of the cornerstone for the Third Holy Temple in Jerusalem, prepared and carried by the Faithful Movement in 1990 to be laid on the Holy Temple Mount, created a spiritual and political “earthquake” in Israel, the Middle East and the entire world. Arabs in Jerusalem and on the Holy Temple Mount rioted and threw stones during the procession as the Faithful Movement carried the cornerstone toward the Holy Temple Mount and the City of David. The Arabs wanted to stop the marchers of the Faithful Movement, but nothing could stop them on their way to the mountain of the G‑d of Israel. The movement continued her march to complete her great goal.
The media from inside Israel and also from numerous worldwide media outlets came to personally interview Gershon and they followed-up by sharing Gershon's testimony with the Israeli public and outward to the entire world. They were all so excited about this major end-time godly event. Many Jewish rabbis and pastors of the evangelical lovers of Israel and Zion arrived in Israel to meet with Gershon. They came to share their support for this prophetic end-time fulfillment. They expressed to Gershon that laying the cornerstone for the Holy Temple was fulfillment of prophecy of the prophets of Israel and that it shocked their hearts and minds. These clergical leaders explained that a revelation had happened in their minds and now they understood that the theory of Israel replacement theology was dead. They could comprehend that only Israel is the chosen people of G‑d and G‑d demonstrates His love and covenant with His people Israel before the entire world. The Jewish rabbis stated that a new age had opened in the life of Israel and the Holy Temple should be built with no delay. All of them expressed their deep wishes to participate and to be a part of this major godly event.
Indeed, a new age began in Israel and throughout the world. Gershon received invitations from every corner of the world inviting him to come and personally share about this major godly testimony. The cornerstone that the Faithful Movement carried to be laid on the Holy Temple Mount marked the beginning of the building of the Third Holy Temple. Inside Israel, this brought forth a spiritual and political revolution: From that point onward, Israel would not only memorialize with fasting and heavy mourning the horrendous destruction of the First and Second Holy Temples to be remembered forever and ever, but now the people of Israel would be assured that the Third Holy Temple will come forth from the destruction. It will be built during the end-times that we are now experiencing as the G‑d of Israel prophesied to His beloved people Israel. Indeed, the time had certainly come to build the Third Holy Temple with no delay in the lifetime of our generation. Memorialize....but also build!!
The vision that directed the work and the campaign of the Faithful Movement is coming to pass in the lifetime of our generation. The building of the Third Holy Temple is behind the door! On Tisha B'Av, August 1, 2017, as the Faithful Movement marched to the Holy Temple Mount, 1,300 Israelis also came to the Holy Mountain memorializing the destruction but also calling the government of Israel not to fear our enemies or anyone else in the world, to trust the G‑d of Israel and to build His Holy Temple as He expects His people Israel to do. This outstanding number of Israelis expressing their heightened interest in the Holy Temple Mount marked the beginning of a new stage of activism in Israel regarding the rebuilding of the Holy Temple on the Holy Temple Mount. While on the Holy Temple Mount, we thanked the G‑d of Israel for this further awakening amongst His people Israel. The vision of the Faithful Movement has become a main stream in the populace of Israel.
During the three weeks before Tisha B'Av, while Israel was busy memorializing the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans which historically took place on the 17th of Tammuz, and while the Faithful Movement was preparing for her upcoming march to the Holy Temple Mount on Tisha B'Av, the exact day of destruction of both Holy Temples, a huge crisis ensued in Jerusalem. Arab and Islamic riots were unleashed when Israel installed magnetometers at the gates to the Holy Temple Mount (to identify weapons carried by Arabs to the Temple Mount in order to conduct terror attacks). Muslims accused Israel of making steps towards the rebuilding of the Holy Temple. They felt that the atmosphere in Israel was leading towards the rebuilding of the Holy Temple and the strengthening of Israel's sovereignty over the Holy Temple Mount and Jerusalem. Arab Islamic terror activities occurred in a few places in Israel. On the Sabbath in the Samarian community of Neve Tzuf (Halamish), an Arab terrorist entered a Jewish home and murdered three Israelis while they celebrated the birth of a new grandson. Pressure came from Arab and Islamic countries for Israel to remove the magnetometers on the Holy Temple Mount and to force Israel not to build the Holy Temple.
The Faithful Movement published a declaration saying:
“If you Muslims have illusions that you can stop the G‑d and people of Israel from rebuilding G‑d's Holy Temple and of returning to His most Holy Mountain, you will fail like all the wars and terror against Israel failed and you were terribly judged by the G‑d of Israel. The people of Israel are determined to build the Holy Temple soon as the Almighty G‑d of Israel is calling us to do. You, Arabs and Muslims, are foreigners who occupied our Land and you have no rights on the Holy Temple Mount, Jerusalem and the Land of Israel. Your foreign occupation is finished and the Holy Temple is very soon to be rebuilt.”
With this declaration, the Faithful Movement marched to the Holy Temple Mount and proclaimed to the G‑d of Israel that we trust only Him and we do not fear our barbaric enemies and even the entire world. We swore faithfulness to the G‑d of Israel and to our goal to rebuild the Holy Temple and to establish G‑d's kingdom in our lifetime.
On the Holy Temple Mount, we prayed from the depths of our hearts for the people of Israel and for our dear friends, brothers and sisters, lovers of Israel and Zion that have a major part in our holy work. We thanked the G‑d of Israel Who touched their hearts and blessed them to stand with Israel during a time when it is so needed. G‑d will continue to bless them as He promised the father of the people of Israel, Abraham, and his seed Israel.
“Now the LORD said to Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, to the land that I will show thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.” (Genesis 12:1-3)
The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement, together with her friends in Israel and from around the world, will intensively continue her holy work. Time is short. The completion of the redemption of Israel and the entire world and the fulfillment of the vision of the Faithful Movement are coming to pass. More than any time in the past, the Faithful Movement is calling everyone to stand with the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement and to help her to accomplish the call of G‑d to our generation and to bring to pass her major godly vision, campaign and work.
